WILLIAM MACKINTOSH'S ADVICE TO THE HEMP INDUSTRY
In 1724, William Mackintosh wrote a treatise for the hemp farmer of his day. One bit of advice he included rings true today:
...it is impossible to have hemp, or the manufacturers thereof, brought to any perfection in this kingdom, unless in convenient places throughout this whole kingdom, person be encouraged to make it their business to acquire a competent knowledge therein.
